Today is my 30 year anniversary of being diagnosed with Celiac Sprue. Back then I had a Webster's Dictionary and a set of Encyclopedias and there was no labeling on the foods. I also didn't know anyone else who had Celiac Sprue and the dietician I was sent to had never heard of this disease either, so we started our journey of research.
I was the first person my doctor had diagnosed with this disease and so it was new to him also. But the good news is...that 30 years later I have lots of choices of food to eat and the public is becoming more aware also.

I am so grateful to be alive, to be healthy and to be able to share my knowledge with others. I have a sister, a daughter and a grandson that has Celiac Sprue also so it is definitely hereditary.
